Interviewing Skills Bromley

Your interviewing skills are a fundamental part of success. You have to look the part, but that's not enough. Your voice, your messages and the conviction with which you say them must all be pulling together.

Having achieved an interview invitation, you need to build on that success and clinch the job.

Recent research indicates that most people fail to get the job because of a lack preparation, over confidence, or poor interviewing technique.

Preparation is a lot easier than it ever was. Use Google to research your target company. That's what Google is for. Who are they? How do they trade? What is their overall standing in the industry? What is their reputation like? What are their values? Who are their competitors? How do they help society?

If you know who is interviewing you, check them out on Facebook, LinkedIn or Ecademy. Try and get a feel for the type of person that they are. If you find out that Daniel Donezetti is a budding mountaineer, show some interest in his achievements. It can only work for you.

Basic interviewing techniques are where many people struggle. Remember that you're involved in a competetion and that you need to stand out from the crowd. That means being suitably well dressed and groomed. Posture is vital, stand up straight, no slouching.

Good eye contact when you're introduced to the interviewer or panel. A sincere smile makes you look confident and eager to impress. Don't sit down until you are invited to do so - don't be presumptuous. Sit up straight and lean a little forward. Small things, but the devil is often in the detail.

Know your strengths and be prepared to speak about your achievements. Did your last role generate excellent sales returns or did your initiatives save thousands of pounds? Speak confidently about your successes - never arrogantly. Know your value and convey those messages to the panel.

The best preparation works through videod role play exercise. If you need a thorough grilling on your particular sector, I will be happy to assist. Just call me.
